Daniela

Daniela Flores ’24 | Student Deputy

Daniela Flores is a Yale College junior in Hopper working toward a B.A. in Environmental Studies. She currently works as the Deputy Director of Communications for YLAN and as a communications assistant for the Yale Child Study Center at the Yale School of Medicine. In a previous role at Yale West Campus, Daniela was a communications intern through New Haven Promise, a scholarship and career readiness program for graduates of New Haven Public Schools. 

At Yale, Daniela is active in the Native and Indigenous community, working previously for the Native American Cultural Center as a First-Year Liaison. She is a member of the Davenport Pops Orchestra, where she is the principal tenor saxophone. Daniela also serves on the YIEEE (Yale Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) board as chair of professional development.

Daniela was born and raised in the Fair Haven neighborhood of New Haven. She is a first-generation American with roots in Tlaxcala, Mexico. In her spare time, she tutors local students in Spanish literacy skills. Daniela hopes to combine her interests in the Spanish language and science by pursuing a career in science communications for Latin American audiences.
