11/11/2021 @ 7:00 PM

1stGenYale Summer Bulldogs
Funded Internships, for Yale College Students, with Yale Faculty Sponsors
1stGenYale designed this program for both Yale College students and faculty/other sponsors who are interested in learning how to connect with eligible Yale College students on financial aid for summer 2022 work in the sciences, arts, education, or public service.
We will discuss funding, such as the Yale Office of Career Strategy’s Summer Experience Award (SEA) and other possible funding from the Yale Fellowships and Funding office.
Join us in our live ZOOM discussion with some of our 2021 Yale College student interns, faculty members, and alumni who participated in the program last summer.
We invite all prospective Yale College students, faculty/other sponsors to hear about their experiences and plan for your 2022 summer internship. All former Summer Bulldogs are welcome to participate.

Background: Reacting to the pandemic’s sudden loss of summer jobs in 2020, 1stGenYale Summer Bulldogs connects Yale College students on financial aid, many of whom are first-generation, to internship opportunities in two ways: (1) sourcing summer internship opportunities with Yale faculty in the Professional Schools and non-profit sponsors, and (2) identifying Yale’s funding options. Since 2020, 50 students have engaged in these summer internships and funded $177,000 by Yale.
